4.4.4 Tests.
4.4.4.1 Compartment leakage.
(a) Empty The compartment shall be tested for leakage
using the Q163 air leakage tester.
(b) Filled. The filled and closed compartment shall be
placed horizontlly with the filling plug down, subjected to a temperature
of 1450 ± 50F for a period of 4.0 ± .5 hours and then examined for leaks.
4.4.4.2 Fuel block and nozzle clearance. The smoke pot shall be
radiographically inspected for fuel block and nozzle clearance using
Inspection Standard R10-1 (see 6.2).
4.4.4.3 Fog oil weight. The weight of the oil shall be determined
by subtracting the average weight of the empty compartment plus closure
components from the average weight of the filled and closed compartments.
4.4.4.4 Functioning The smoke pot shall be functioned as specified
on Drawing B11-18-4 except that portion of note 4 "place the smoke pot
in a bucket or large metal can" shall be optional. The smoke pot shall
emit a continuous cloud of smoke under pressure for the specified time
(see 4.4.5).
