3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Materials and components.
3.1.1 Materials. All materials cited on Drawing DL11-18-3 or on the
subsidiary drawings shall conform to the specifications listed thereon or
to the specific characteristics set forth on the drawings.
3.1.2 Components. All components of the smoke pot shall conform to the
specifications and drawings listed on Drawing DL11-18-3 and subsidiary
drawings.
3.2 Assembly. The smoke pot shall be assembled as shown on Drawing
D11-18-3.
3.3 Compartment leakage (drawing C11-9-62).
3.3.1 Empty. The compartment when subjected to an internal air pressure
of 5.0 ± 0.5 pounds per square inch gage (psig) shall not leak air when
tested as specified in 4.4.4.1(a).
3.3.2 Filled. The filled and closed compartment shall not leak fog
oil when tested as specified in 4.4.4.1(b).
3.4 Filling.
3.4.1 Fuel block. The container shall be filled with approximately
75 grams (g) of fuel mixture, 10 ± 1 g of starter mixture and approximately
0.5 g of matchhead mixture (see 6.3 and 6.4). The fuel block shall be
consolidated under a minimum dead-load of 6 tons.
